Trapped!

(Barely edited. Forgive me!)

My heart skipped a beat when I heard the low grave voice on the phone.

“Hello?” My hero casually greeted.

I opened my mouth to say ‘hello’ but the voice said something that stroke my heart.

“Hate to break to ya, but this is my voicemail! And if you’re that sweet girl I met last night, I’ll text you as soon as I notice your miss call.” And the machine talked.

I didn’t bother to leave a message. I hanged up. It was reassuring that the number actually worked but I really needed to talk to him... especially now than ever.

I sat down on my bed and thought my situation through. I had imagined Andrew as the devil himself. And now that he was quite the opposite--- physically at least, I didn’t know what to do. He was age appropriate, amazingly handsome, manners? He had manners. His personality could not be so bad-- considering that my dad chose him.

But there was something I didn’t get. There was one of the Ws that was still a blur to me: the WHY? There had to be something wrong going on. Otherwise why my iron-steel-cold-hearted dad would allow a man like Andrew Logan to marry me? It wasn’t because he was handsome or nice or rich... Nothing would have been good enough for him. In fact, I thought that a tragedy like Romeo and Juliet would happen the day I’d meet my true love because of my father.

My mother was acting all shady. She would never tell me what was going on. The only way to find out was to ask the man himself, Andrew. In order to do that, I would have to first apologize to him and then fake to be nice. I didn’t have a problem with that. What I was scared of was how to be rude to him again after being nice to him. Once I got to know him, it would be difficult to blow him off.

I shook my head at the idea of marrying a man my dad chose for me. I glanced at the clock in my room. It was time to give Andrew a tour. I stood up and went to his room to meet him. He had already put on his designer white long sleeves shirt and black pants. The shirt highlighted his eye color.

“Ready?” I asked looking away. I was blushing.

“Yes,”

We went around all sections of my house. I only said what was necessary. He didn't say anything either. He only shook his head and smiled.

We both slowly walked and sat on a chair in the garden under the shades of a tree.

The sun was really bright. The flowers of all colors, the twittering birds flying all around, and the handsome man sitting and texting next to me created a paradisiac environnement. I felt really bad disturbing this image by talking. But I had to. I cleared my throat before saying:

“I’m sorry about earlier.”

Andrew stopped looking at his phone to stare at me. His deep sea-blue eyes drowned my heart...

“You know about jumping out of my bed and meet you. Literally. And barging in your room without knocking...” I turned red at the reminder of the shirtless scene in Andrew’s room.

“It’s ok. I don’t mind.” His voice was charming. “No need to apologize.”

“So we’re good?” I asked.

“Yea.” He smiled before he went back to his phone.

“Brilliant,” I mumbled.

I waited a few minutes.

“Doesn’t it bother you?” I said examining his handsome face.

“I beg your pardon?” He put his phone in his pocket.

I now had his full attention. Good. I thought.

“You know that our parents are forcing us to marry each other...”

“Oh,” He said suddenly in deep thoughts. “Not really. I was anxious at first. But apparently, it’s a win-win situation. So I’m not worried at all.” Once again he showed incredibly white teeth.

But at the moment I was not thinking about his beautiful smile, I was preoccupied by his words and his confidence. He was vague and relaxed. It was not normal. Men in general these days were not interested in exchanging eternal vows girls--not even for love. Andrew didn’t have a problem with our arranged marriage at all.

“I don’t understand. What do you mean by a win-win situation?” I frowned.

“You mean your parents didn’t tell you?” He asked. When I shook my head, he continued. “Your parents are pushing you to marry me because my parents recently bought almost all of your parents’ assets... including this mansion. That’s the primary reason I came here. To do a close inspection of this property. I, of course, have a chance to meet my in-laws for a change.”

My heart was throbbing real fast. I could not breathe well. My face became pale and I felt like I was about to throw up...

“Are you ok?” Andrew asked me. I heard his voice from far away.

“I’m fine.” I answered, barely on earth. “Why are you doing this?” My voice trembled.

“Doing what?” He was incredibly calm.

“Marrying me. If my parents are pushing me to you, it only means they are taking advantage of you... Why do agree with such thing?”

I was barely conscious of what I was saying.

“I’m not the oldest son. My parents plans to give my older brother everything and leave me with one percent of their assets only. I refuse to live counting on my brother’s help. He’s an a---” He paused to look at me like he cared not to curse in front of me. “My Grandfather still owe sixty percent of my family assets. He said that the first of his grandsons to settle down, will inherit all his shares-- including your family’s shares that he just acquired.  Your parents proposed an arranged marriage with you. That’s why I said it’s a win-win situation. I get to marry a pretty girl and stay rich...”

I could not believe my ears. He was a greedy bastard... He loved money so much that he didn’t care about my feelings... He was even worse than my father...

I slowly stood up. I lost balance and fell in his strong arms. I rapidly pushed him away.

“You don’t look so well...” He said. “Maybe I should walk you to your room...”

I ignored his offer and walked to the mansion. I stumbled on my way in a couple of times. But I made it to my room. I wished I had the strength to slam my door but my arms and legs were noodles. I crawled to my bed and retired for the day. I sobbed in silence, looking at the ceiling.

My situation was way worse than I thought. If I didn’t marry Andrew, my parents and I would lose our privileges. And I could not picture myself marrying a heartless man like him. I would rather die... A thousand times... Running away with Mr. Mysterious was my only best option... But it would be also selfish and cowardly.

It was hard to swallow with my throat tightened as I realized: I was trapped.

Andrew Logan

I woke up the next day with my phone going crazy. It was not the alarm. It was my BFF Hazina calling.

"Hello," I mumbled barely awake.

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?" Hazina yelled on the other side of the phone. "I've been calling you all night. You went out with a complete stranger!” She had a slight accent when she was upset.

“Calm down,” I said to her. “I’m fine.”

“Is that so? You didn’t get r...”

“No, Hazina. I’m really fine. I actually had fun...”

“Tell me everything! Don’t leave out a single detail! Who was the man on the motorcycle?”

“That’s the mystery. I don’t know! All I know, he’s a really good kisser.” I rolled on my back on the bed.

“Let me get this straight: You ran off with a total stranger in the middle of the night, you let him stole your first kiss, and you don’t even know his name?”

“Yep,”

“Do you know how crazy that sounds, Amelia?”

I was bout to explain my BFF everything about my night but my mum busted in my room.

“Wake up Amelia!” She ordered me while pushing away the curtains to let the light in.

“I’ll call you right back.” I told Hazina before I hanged up. “Why?” I asked my mother. “It’s eight o’clock in the morning!”

It was useless to ask her to knock. Apparently I was living under my parents’ roof and they had the right to dash into any rooms they wanted--- including mine.

“Have you forgotten?” She frowned. “Today is the day you meet your fiancé.”

“Arrrgh! I know but why this early? Is he already here?”

“Yes. He wants to have breakfast with us.” My mother nodded.

“Perfect.” I said throwing my blankets away.

I jumped on my naked feet. I stood in front of my giant mirror. Medusa’s hair--the brown version, checked. Face with makeup half gone--including melting mascara, checked. Sexy dress from last night apparently from a drinking party completely wrecked by the bed, checked. Nails although done insignificant to the mess I was, checked. And barefoot, checked.

I was officially ready to meet my future husband.

“You are not going out like this, are you?” My mother scolded me as opened the door.

“Why not? He’s my future husband, isn’t he? He will see me before i put makeup on. He might as well get used to it right now,” I rushed through the doors.

“Don’t you dare, Amelia?” My mother ran after me. “Don’t you dare destroy our reputation like that and in ours I mean yours in it too!”

I pretended I didn’t hear what my mother said and ran to the dining room.

I was completely out of breath when I got to the dining room. My mom had run after me through all the six large rooms that lead to my dear husband to be. I saw a back of a man wearing a black suit. His hair was well combed and appearance neat. Good, I thought. He was a snob like my parents. He would hate me at first sight and my plans would be successful.

I purposely grabbed my chair making a lot of noise and sat next to the man. What I saw shocked me.

Andrew :)

I was embarrassed. The man was max twenty years old. And he was quite handsome. He stared at me with his deep blue eyes.

“Hi,” He said smiling.

He didn’t seem to mind my appearance.

“Hi,” I had the courage to mumble.

“I’m Andrew Logan. I assume you are Amelia Jenkins.” He offered me his hand.

I ignored him. He put his hand down nervously. I felt bad. But I was not about to let my plans down just because the guy was handsome. I wanted for love to find me not chosen by my parents! My mother came later on. We sat in silence and ate breakfast. It was the coldest meal I ever had without my dad there. I had a hard time swallowing my food. With Andrew’s eyes on me. After we were done eating, my mother apologized to Andrew.

“Now Amelia will you put on some decent clothes and give Andrew a tour of the mansion?” My mother gave the “I want to kill you” look.

“Fine,” I agreed.

I went to my room. I took my time taking a nice long shower and putting my jeans on--clothes my father would have disapproved. When I was done, it was still ten o’clock. I called Hazina to finish our chat. I explained to her everything that happened until this morning.

“So you have three candidates,” She said after listening to me. “Mr. Brad Pitt green eyes, Mr. Mysterious, and now Andrew!”

“What do you mean by candidates? I’m not interested in Andrew. He doesn’t seem like a bad guy. But my parents through him at me! There has to be something wrong with him--”

“Like what?”

“Like everything-- Seriously. I don’t like Mr. Green Eyes. He’s hot and all but he’s Mr. Mysterious’ enemy.”

“I’m so jealous of you right now, Amelia!” Hazina laughed. “I mean in one night you have all of this---”

“I hear someone at the door. It’s probably my mom. Talk to you later.” I hanged up and went to my mirror pretending that I was still getting ready.

“I warned you, Amelia.” My mother slowly walked toward me. “How did you feel?” She stood behind me smiling mischievously in the mirror.

“Terrific.” I mumbled. “So what I was wrong about the age? I still don’t agree to all of this!” I blushed.

“Amelia, darling. I know your little game now. You’re trying to get rid of Andrew before your dad comes back.” She took my brush hair and started to brush my hair.

“Very clever mum. But you can’t stop me. I have my own saying over my destiny.” I announced with confidence.

“Yes, you’re right. But there are certain things that we can’t change. I will try to stop you-- at least your craziest ideas. But I want you to know that I want the best for you!” She kissed on my forehead.

“You didn’t only come here for your “I-told-you-so” speech. Where is Mr. Logan?” I asked.

“I showed him his room. The boy flew all the way from Australia. You should go easy on him. He looks tired.”

“So am I.” I smiled.

“You still have to give him a tour of the mansion. I love you.” My mom walked out of the room.

I waited until her steps disappeared to sneak out. It was easy to find out where the new guest in the house was. I had a lot in mind and he had to know. His suite was unlock. I entered his room and he was not there. ‘Where could he have gone to?’ I wondered. I went through his closet and drawers--nothing. He didn’t unpack yet.

I walked in the bathroom to see if he had taken a shower. There was fresh water all over. I turned to leave but there was a guy in front of me. Andrew Logan. With all his naked muscled torso. My eyes lowered down in shock. Good thing he still had his towel on.

“Hey,” He casually greeted me.

My mouth was dropped on the floor. I was speechless. How could he be so calm! He was half naked for crying out loud!

“Do you need something?” He asked. “If it’s not too urgent, you can tell me while giving me the tour your mom-- I mean Mrs. Jenkins talked about. I’m kinda in the middle of taking a shower here.” He politely smiled.

“Are kidding me?” I heard myself say. “Are a ghost? I went to your room you weren’t there and now you appear out of nowhere...” I started to panic.

“Oh, while I was in the shower I noticed that I forgot my towel. So I went to my room to pick it up. When I came back, here you were...” He laughed.

I wanted to punch him and kiss him... I was being irrational... Mr. Mysterious guy.... Mysterious... Those biceps are just like supermodels on TV how did Andrew get those? I shook my head.

“You have to leave...” Andrew woke me from my thoughts. “You can wait in the living room if you want... Or outside the bathroom...”

“No, no, no,” I quickly refused. “I’ll be back in one hour. I hope you will have clothes on... Bye” I ran outside all the way to my room.

“Okay, what just happened?” I asked myself.

I brought up Mr. Mysterious image from last night in my head but it was not enough. He didn’t leave me images more convincing than supermodel six packs... I breathed in and out. There had to be a solution... I had to be in contact with Mr. Mysterious again... But it was impossible. He disappeared without leaving a clue behind...

It was at that moment I remembered the phone number he had left behind. I picked up my cell and dialed his number. I waited till he answered.

The Mysterious Kiss

My BFF Hazina and  I escaped from our houses at exactly nine o'clock. We met an hour later under the Big Ben now officially called Elizabeth Tower.

"You look glamorous," I said to my Hazina.

She had on a red stunning mesh sequin material lays over silky satin  and a deep cowl back... Her makeup matched her outfit and her dark hair made h
er skin look lighter. I remembered the sweet story of our friendship. The first years we met, I had no idea what Hazina was saying. She spoke Hindi. I was sure she did not get my language either. But we had one thing in common: we were glad we finally found a friend our age.

We met when we were five years old in India. She lived there with her family and I was just on a business trip with my dad. We played for a week in one the five-star hotels owned by Hazina's family. Our parents became friends. They had a lot in common: a lot of money and one daughter. Hazina and her family moved to England later on.

"You're not bad yourself," She said waving her hair.

"Thanks," I said smiling. "I feel like a rock star!"

"A sexy rock star," Hazina whispered to me smiling.

I was wearing a edgy black satin dress, adorned with a sweetheart neckline, metal celestial diamond design, and complete with a metal belt that formed a bow in the back. I was proud of that dress!

"So, what do we do?" Hazina asked rubbing her hands.

"First we have to get a ride," I said walking on the bridge.

"To go where?"

"I don't know to a club or something."

"Let's get a taxi! I never sat in one before!" My BFF was excited.

"OK," I agreed...

“I feel really lucky tonight!” Hazina said.

“How?”

“I don’t know I feel like anything could happen!”

“Like what?”

“Like us meeting One Direction!”

“No Way!”

“That kind of feeling!”

“You know what, we’ve never visited London on our own. Our city! Maybe we should do a tour!” I said thinking.

“What happened to “dangerous things” you talked about?”

“We can still do that and do a little tour. There’s no harm in that!”

Hazina and I tried a couple of clubs but we got kicked out because we were too young. We still had a tour for a few hours. We visited some popular places together. I completely lost track of time.

“I think we should go home,” Hazina stated.

We both had our heels in our hands. We looked like drunk teens after party.

“Arrrgh! Hazina, we haven’t tried anything dangerous yet.” I said annoyed.

“Yea, but I’m tired! And besides, I’ve already called my limo.” She turned eyes away from mine.

“What? When?”

“Right after we left the last restaurant,” She confessed.

“OMG Hazina, I thought you wanted to meet One Direction tonight?”

“Well, we didn’t. We had a great time together. Now, it’s the time to go.”

Hazina’s limo had already arrived. It was parked behind us. I was as tired as Hazina, but I felt like something was missing. I didn’t want to go home yet.

“There’s a motorcyclist across the street. Wait, he’s coming that way!” Hazina whispered to me.

I looked around and I saw  the man coming our way. I could not see his face through the black helmet with shield smoke. He was wearing black tight outfit... Two things caught my attention: this guy was sexy and dangerous...

“Need a ride gorgeous?” He said pulling over in front of the limo.

He was talking to me. I could tell he was looking at me behind his mask.

“You can go without me, Hazina.”

“Are you kidding me? That guy is dangerous!” Hazina whispered.

“Exactly!” I answered with excitement.

“This guy can do anything to you. Anything, Amelia” Hazina pressed on every word.

I had thought about what she said. That man could kidnap me, even worse, rape me! I didn’t care about the kidnapping part. I kinda wanted it a little bit. I wanted to scare my father a little bit--- big time. The rape part however was scary--- as scary as marrying a man I didn’t know nor love. The man I would meet the next day-- or later on since it was already midnight-- would rape me legally if I married him. But this dangerous man standing in front of me would rape me because I recklessly went on an adventure with him. I was not sure which was worse...

I chose quickly. Any of my decisions would lead me to a terrible end... rape. So I chose the one that was more thrilling... The stranger in front of me...

“Don’t worry! I’ll be fine. I have my cell. I’ll text you. Later,” I pushed Hazina toward the limo.

I sat behind the motorcycle and the man drove off with me. I closed my eyes along the ride. The guy was really fast and I was scared of everything. I held on tight. I bet he was enjoying me holding him tight, but I didn’t care.

We stopped at a red light. I opened my eyes and the street was empty. One or two people passed by. If I was getting raped, there would be nobody to save me. Great. Perfect. I didn’t know if I should regret my adventure or not. I opened my mouth to ask where we were going but another bike stopped next to me.

“Hey, sexy girl!” he said looking at me.

“Hi,” I did my best to smile. My driver ignored the other biker.

“Why are you biking with that loser? Ride with me!”

I laughed. Okay, this guy was too confident. He sure looked sexy in his motorcyclist outfit--- he certainly had more muscles than my biker. So I decided to go alone with his catchy flirt.

“Why should I?” I added a sexy smile at my question. I hoped he found it sexy.

“Because,” He took his helmet off and I was blown away.

“You’re hot!” I unconsciously said.

He had blond hair, green eyes, wide shoulders... Everything went slow motion as he shook his short hair... But before I said anything, my driver took off on short notice.

“Hang on,” He simply said.

He sped like the police was after him. I felt sick with all the speed. He stopped a few minutes later after we lost the sexy blond stranger. He lead me to a dark and small driveway between two tall buildings. I could barely see where I was. I breathed in and out. It’s rape time, I thought. It didn’t sound funny at all in my head.

“What are we doing here?” I said trembling.

“Hiding from your cassanova obviously,” He sounded angry.

“Are you jealous?” I chuckled. I knew I was pushing my luck, but who cared! “I just met you a minute ago and him too,”

“You said that he’s hot at first sight. It was obvious that you wanted to ride with him instead of me,” He took his helmet off. I still could not see his face. It was so dark.

“That’s crazy! Maybe if I see you, I would say the same...” I wanted to see at least the guy who kidnapped me...

“Forget it,” He said walking further to the dark.

I was pissed off.

“I don’t know what’s the deal with you but you are not going to ruin my night. I decided to go with you because my life is about to change tomorrow--- and maybe forever!” I yelled.

The boy turned back and walked toward me.

“What will happen to you tomorrow?” He whispered.

“I will meet the guy that I assumed to be an old pedo. My parents are forcing me to marry a complete stranger... I thought tonight I would go out and party and forget about everything. But I got kicked out of all clubs I tried to enter...” Tears rolled down my red cheeks.

The boy got closer to me and wiped my face with one hand. At this point, I could feel his warm breath on my face... I liked his cologne... OMG, I thought, consented rape...

“You can refuse you know. Just say no,” His voice became a murmure to my ears.

“I can’t...”

“Why?”

“My dad, he’s not someone I can say no to...”

“Then let’s run away together,” My heart stopped. “Meet the guy tomorrow and if you don’t like him, we can leave together.”

My heart pounded really fast... This was the nicest thing a boy had never said to me... This was the first time I had a conversation with a boy, that close and alone...

“Yes,” I agreed.

“Ok,” I could tell he was smiling and probably blushing too.

I didn’t care who he was but I was glad to have a plan B. Just in case my plan to sabotage my marriage didn’t work. We were breathing heavily. The stranger slowly pressed his lips against mine and kissed me... I played along.. I wasn’t quite sure how kissing worked so I followed his lead... He pressed me against the wall. It hurt and felt good at the same time. Later on, he let me go to catch my breath. He put on his helmet and asked me directions to my home.

He drove silently. I hugged him for good this time.

He entered the gates of the mansion. He went all the way to the front door. He helped me get off the bike. I was glad I was on solid ground again--- physically-- but mentally I wanted the night to never end...

“Wait, take off the helmet!” I quickly said when he was about to leave.

He started to take it off but a familiar voice behind me yelled my name loud enough for the whole city to hear. My prince put back on his helmet. I didn’t have a chance to see his face. He wrote something fast on a piece of paper and handed it to me.

“Text me,” He said before he took off. I watched him go away with my shoes in one hand and my dark brown hair looking like medusa’s.

I Have To!

Have you ever wished for once you had a normal life? Well, if you have that wish, welcome to my world! Out of all the worst things, it had to be an arranged marriage! I mean who does that in the twenty-first century? The critical part of this situation was that I never actually met the guy!

I was standing in our mansion's highly decorated living room in London discussing my arranged marriage, with my mother. I was trying to get at least a single clue of what my husband-to-be looked like. But it was not going too well.

"Do I really have to do this? This is modern time, America has black president... I can't marry a man I don't even know! Do not talk to stranger! Remember that rule you taught me? Now you want me to marry one?" I complained to my mother.

She was as tall as me, with long brown hair and big russet brown eyes, just like me. She stood up from her chair.

"At least tell me what he looks like or how old he is! Is he young? At least my age?" I begged.

"You will find out soon enough." My mother coldly answered. "Don't look at me like that, Amelia. It's your father's idea. If you want to complain, go to him."

"But he's all the way in Paris on a business trip." I exhaled. I was doing my best to keep my temper in.

"Then call him or wait until he comes back. Now if you'll excuse me,"

"He's old, isn't he? That's why you’ve been hiding this from me?" I said as my mother walked past me.

My mother stopped for a second. She left the living room without a word. And that only confirmed my suspicions.

My family was rich. We had a butler, servants, clothes designers, everything the queen had. I could not understand why my father wanted me to marry this guy. For over three weeks-since I learned about my sad fate- I tried to figure out what was the reason behind my parents’ strange decision.

I even made a list of families that we knew. The only thing my father did not have and the queen had was power and a lot of attention. Which brought me to think maybe my dad chose one of the royal family members.

Yea, like you are probably already thinking, this makes no sense. I thought that too. I decided to stop guessing who it was. It was painful to think now he was most likely old man- pedophile.

No matter whom it was, I had a plan. There was no way I would spend my life with a man that I barely knew--an old man... I would sabotage my arranged marriage. The problem was my father...

My father, Mr. Charles Jenkins, most people called him, was a heartless monster. Wait till I explain before you judge! I spent my childhood terrified of my father---until now. He never smiled and properly talked to me without giving me an "order."

I tried to defy my father's "order" once. I was nine years old and my nanny was forcing me to wear some black shoes I hated. I refused. My mother tried to talk me out of it but I was too stubborn to listen. I didn't care what the consequences were----now I wish that I did.

I remember clearly that afternoon how my dad came to my room to have a father-daughter chat with me. I was pouting thinking that I was a normal rich spoiled girl. My father told me why I had to go out with him. He had a friendly reunion with his important business partners. His family had to be there with him.

I promised my dad to go but I had to be wearing something else. He insisted on the black shoes that I hated. He said that black is universally a perfect color. I still said no. So he told with rage,

"Fine, then from now on, you will not wear anything on your feet again. And you still have to come to the party." He slammed the door behind him.

I thought it was a joke. It should have been a joke, a sort of menace to scare me. But when I saw him ordering people around to "confiscate" all my shoes--including socks, I freaked out. I apologized to him but he didn't care. I spent an entire month walking around with no shoes, wearing long dresses in public to avoid the attention of the media. My feet got injured sometimes but my father would still not change his mind.

I was horrified as a kid and learned something very important. I learned that my father was not human. If i didn't do as he said, I would be in trouble--- and trouble is such a nice word to what waiting for me if i disobeyed my father. He treated me like an asset. My mother always tried to convince me that he "loved" me. And all he did was for my own "good". Yea, right! If that was trues then pigs did fly.

I often thought of escaping. This would mean living like a normal poor person. Impossible. My father was not the kind of man to let his belongings escape. He would make sure to follow me and make my life as miserable as possible- until I come back to him begging. And besides, I was rich all my life. There was no way I would survive living on my own.

Because of my father, I HAD TO marry that guy. I had no choice---unless he refused me. That was my plan. I would do anything in my power to make that presumed-old-man hate me. He would visit tomorrow and stay for two weeks at our mansion in London. My father went on a business trip and would not come back until the following week. I had one week to do whatever in I could to sabotage my arranged marriage. "Failure" was not an option. My life and my future depended on it.

I went to my spacious room to call my BFF. We had a rendez-vous later at night... to do some dangerous things!
